1208 international criminal court

today I went to ICC international criminal court to participate a guide tour. In The Hague, which is close from Leiden city, there are many International organizations. This is one of the reasons why I selected here as an exchange. When I was in elementary school, I wanted to work as an International governor. So I’m very looking forward to visiting there and having dinner with them. When I was in the university, I studied mainly about philosophy, ethics, international politics, and refugee problems, human rights so on. Following my curiosity, an international organization should have been an option of my job. But compared with my friends in the uni, I realized I was not so much intelligent as them. Also whatever I have been really interested in making money. And also I thought public organizations were necessary but they cannot produce money by themselves. Mainly they depend on donation. But to pursue justice as a judge is very attractive for me. The purpose of the International criminal court is to judge defendants of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide and contribute to long‐term peace, stability and equitable development in post‐conflict societies. The Vice President of the court is now Japanese woman. If I was in Japan I had no opportunities to have dinner with such a great and famous people. The man sitting next me was also working in ICC as a researcher. He used to work in UNHCR and the time to discuss some political issues with him was precious time Ive ever had. Talking with people whom I cannot see in my ordinary life is very significant and full of meaning I think.

Once in a LIFE time opportunity

Japanese studying in the Netherlands from September 2017.
