1016 Vienna
[Day4]Vienna. Woke up at around 9, but the girl sleeping on the next bed was still sleeping. She had already slept when we went back to the room at 12 yesterday night. So we guessed she kept sleeping for very long time. We were not sure whether we can drink coffee or not, but we took them and had a great morning time. But we didn’t wanna be punished and transformed into shit bags in next life so didn’t take any breads.
After calling out in the morning, we checked out and left our hostel at 15 past 10. At first we went to the kosuke`s friend`s house to put our backpacks. He was almost late for classes but guided us to the center of Vienna city. Compared with the Vienna we had been yesterday, the center of Vienna, so that, historical part of Vienna was very beautiful and had good atmosphere. In the center of Vienna, there were many brand-name stores and looked like Ginza in Japan. The university of Vienna, where his friend studying, was very magnificent and looked like a castle. It was built in 1365, so more than 200 years older than our university!! That was located in very center part of Vienna and also it`s cafeteria was very nice (in terms of view, food, price). We visited the cafeteria as if we had been students of the university of Vienna and had spatzl, which was famous Germany pasta made of egg. I imagined how awesome the life in Vienna was cause the campus were surrounded by many castles and cathedrals. But I thought I would get bored of it within two weeks, like I was in Kyoto. Anyway each city has its own attractive points. I wanna be a person who can enjoy these points.
What we needed to do in Vienna was to eat some Sachertorte. We went to the cafe demel, which had been loved by Hapsburg family for a long time. The chocolate cake was 5.5 euro. It was very expensive and still not sure it was worth paying for 5 euro. Kosuke went to meet up with his friend and during that time he went to the demel again and bought a cheese cake for ada`s birthday. Me and kosuke completed our mission secretly. After that it was already around 4 o’clock, but we headed to the palace by train. We had a few minutes to be able to stay there cause our flight was approaching. But we did not regret at all. We separated into two and tried to do everything to be in time for the flight departure. We took our luggages from friend`s room and bought souvenirs and bought and had a hotdog. The hotdog was the best one I have ever eaten in my life. Finally we arrived at the airport and flied back to Rotterdam. Arriving at Haag station, it became timely 17th of October. Took cake out of my bag and celebrated her 21st birthday. Unfortunately, the cake was messed up but I were very happy to celebrate her great birthday at a bit weird place. Cheers with very good meeting with new people in the Netherlands.
I got to know very important thing through this trip. First, who you go to the trip will decide how much you can enjoy it. Second, just hanging around the city and taking a picture is worthless. You need to know the background like history before you go there. If you can, you need to make the purpose of trip before leaving.
