0824 getting a sim card
today was also very nice day. I spent a great time with Joris. In the morning, I went to the botanical garden by myself and explored there. Showing my student ID, I could get into the garden for free. It was famous because of its tradition, like it was established in 16th century. What I remembered the most was a Japanese garden which Siebold had imported from Japan. I felt like as if I had been in Japan. I’ve decided to go there if I miss Japan. Anyway Leiden and the university have a very long history and the citizens seem to try to keep it as it used to be. As Mr.Saeki and Michel said, people in Europe seem to cherish their history and consider the best way of living for them. i would like to the difference of Capitalism between USA and European countries. Aside from whether its good or not, i think japanese and americans need to respect the european way of living. As karoshi is becoming a serious problem in japan, it is time to look back on our working style and our economical promotion-oriented capitalism. After that, went to the university library. There were too many books to find a book I was interested in, however, I could find the shelves which included books about law and science politics. Reading English books is still very hard for me, but I believe I can read it smoothly if I continue to read a lot. I demonstrated it by overcoming some difficult Japanese books after tough training. I believe in myself that I can read it well some day. Quantity and quality is the key to success of acquiring languages I think. In order to learn something new, we need to make an effort in terms of both quality and quantity. After going to the Plexus and completed the housing contract, I met up with Joris. He took me to the mobile phone shop and finally I got a SIM card. Which costed 15 euro per month. It much cheaper than the one I used in Japan. However, I can use only 2G, so I have to control the amount of internet connection. And after that, we went to the River side cafe. We had a very good time there. The time was like a scene from a movie. He is well-known about world history and talk to me very clearly. Therefore I can understand what he says very well. Next time I will try to talk more slowly and clearly. After that we went to a kebabu shop for dinner. That shop was very popular and crowed with many civilians. Joris went to the Japanese studying club, so we said good bye. Maybe next week I will attend the club as a kansai-ben guest. Anyway he was very helpful and kind, also very serious about studying. I have to be kind to others like him and study English as much as him.
