0107 Rome day1

got up at 3:30 and headed to the airport to take a plane at 7am. I said goodbye to my room and I was sure gonna miss the life I spent here in Leiden. Managed to make my plane and landed in Rome at 9:30. I didn’t remember what I was doing after take off cause I kept sleeping and just woke up due to the impact of landing. My hostel was located in a very good place like 10 minutes walk from the central station.

Firstly, went to there just to leave my big backpack. And went to the Rome Forum where I wanted to go the most. The entire area was used as a place to do politics such as elections and public speech. As a political student, it cannot be helped that I feel the roman of democracy that lasts for around 2000 years. After passing through the forum area, I went to colosseum, but there was a very long line as today was Sunday and free entrance. So I gave up entering the inside and just enjoy the outside of colosseum. To be honest, I was excited to observe the behavior of merchants and tourists. There are many tourists coming to see the colosseum and also there are many cheap-jack around the tourists. Some sell shitty selfy-bar, bracelet, and many other shitty toys, and other are doing fraud questionnaires. They try to sell shitty things to tourists to earn and make their lives. One guy asked me “ナガトモサイコウダゼ”. I was a bit surprised and almost nodded and say like he is the best soccer player in Japan. But I ignored him because I had not so good experiences in Paris. They try to catch our eyes to conduct “business”. There were only black guys selling in front of Colosseo. I realized there has been still very big income differences between black and white people in Italy. The statement that there is no racial discrimination in Europe is fake I think. But what I found interesting at that place was that some people got interested in their stuffs and bought them. Those who bought the stuffs apparently know how bad quality these stuffs have. And some people give some money to beggars. I guess it because of their christianity beliefs?? How we can make a society which allows diversity and easy to live for immigrants. I think it is one of the biggest problems we are/will be facing in the future. After that, I went to have lunch. It was almost 3pm and I did not eat anything for 10 hours. I searched on the internet about good panini shops in Rome yesterday so I went there. I would say the panini was the best in my life and also I costed only 5euro. I was still hungry so went to pizzashop. The pizza was also the best in I’ve ever had, that was only 3euro. Went to Navona park and chilled for a while. And went to the charch by the park. I felt the secularization of christianity cause many people took a picture of god. I think it was punished to see god just as a object of beauty. After that I went to popolo park which is located near from the famous Spain park in which Audrey Hepburn was eating an Icecream in the film of ローマの休日. And walked on the fancy streets and bought some dinner and went back to the hostel. the people sharing the room with were very nice. I wanna treasure this new meetings.
