0108 Rome day2
went to Vatican city in the morning. I was supposed to go there more early in the morning, but I slept over and arrived there at 11am. I knew there was a big line to get into the cathedral but the line was longer than I expected. And in the end I waited for 1 hour just to get inside. But I’m sure it was worth for waiting for 1 hour. You know the Vatican City is just for catholic and the cathedral is the biggest one in the world. I was really stunned to realize how magnificent the building was and to know how long the religion had been establishing the basis of truth and how many people had been believing it. God is not either tangible or visible. The only difference between animals and human beings is the fact that we human beings can believe and talk about the things which do not exist in a real world. And this can become people superior than the other existences. Nations, borders, government, god, etc.. we cannot check and touch them by your hands. But without them, we could not have created this modern sophisticated world. The visitation to Vatican make me reconfirm the fact that we are the existence that believe intangible things.
After that I went to the pizza shop that has a good evaluation of google maps. The pizza I had there was the better than I had yesterday. My definition of pizza has completely changed during this trip in Rome. Also I was a bit moved to realize that I was standing in the country which I had learned in high school geography class. And walked along side the Tiber river. There was a good violist and I heard the music for a while. The combination of violin sounds and the historical atmosphere of Rome was awesome. And went to have an Icecream which was my friend’s recommendation. Basically I don’t like sweet things especially Icecream, but the Icecream was soooooooooooooo nice. Why Italy has so many delicious stuffs?? And why holland doesn’t have so many delicious stuffs??? And after that went to Pantheon. In front of the pantheon, there was also a violist and listened his sounds for 20 minutes or more. He was an artist. He was creating the sounds and world views which other people cannot mimic. I really wanna be an artist if I have a chance to spend the other life. Actually I cried a bit to be moved by his sounds. And went back to hostel. Tomorrow I will go to Venice and meet up with my university friends from Japan.cant wait.
